While Buffalo is known for being all about community, there are children in our area who have never had the opportunity to go to the museums, or historical sites that our city has to offer. For many students, especially in underserved communities, field trips are rare or even nonexistent due to budget constraints.

This is where Get Out and About steps in. Our organization's goal is to allow students in underserved and low-income communities of Western New York who would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate, to experience the fun of field trips at no cost to them or their families.

By donating to Get Out and About, INC., you can help give the children in our community the chance to explore the world beyond their classrooms.

Here are just a few reasons why field trips are so important for the youth of our community:

• Bringing Learning to Life - Reading about science, art or history is one thing, but experiencing it firsthand is something completely different.

• Expanding Horizons - Many children in low-income communities have never been far outside of their neighborhoods. Field trips expose them to new environments, ideas, and career possibilities they may not be able to experience within their neighborhood.

• Building Social and Emotional Skills - Field trips encourage teamwork, curiosity, and independence. Whether it's navigating a new place with their classmates, or participating in hands-on experiments, students develop problem-solving skills and gain confidence in new settings.

• Creating Equity in Education - Unfortunately, field trips are more of a privilege than a right. Schools in higher-income areas have the resources to provide regular outings while underfunded schools often have to cut them entirely. Your donation helps level the playing field, ensuring all students, no matter their background, have access to enriching educational experiences.
